Murphy Teece is one of a small group of men who paint with Artists of Ampilatwatja.
He was born at Amaroo station, where his parents were camped and working. As a young man he worked as a stockman at Amaroo, learning many skills from the old men. He started painting in the early days of Artists of Ampilatwatja.
Murphy is married to Rita Beasley and lives in Ampilatwatja with their extended family. He travels often to Lake Nash to visit family there and enjoys to go shooting for ‘arre’ (kangaroo).
