Biography

Desmarie Pula Morrison is a young emerging artist from Tennant Creek. Born in 1989 Desmarie grew up at Imangara (Murry Downs community.) She learned to paint  from her mother and grandmother. Desmarie’s style emanates vibrancy as her strong use of colour and dot work depicts the distinct style of the Barkly region. Her paintings are often derived from moments and memories of childhood — hunting, gathering bush tucker and learning how to recognise trees, bush medicine and plants of her country. 

Desmarie studied art whilst attending Tauoundi College in Adelaide. 

Desmarie’s styles continues to expand and flourish into an aesthetic where colour, composition and gesture are highly considered.
